well, it has been brought to my attention that my blog is more like a newsletter, instead of a blog. but whatever, someday i'll find more time to write and keep this updated. anyways...
i'm leaving my job at seaworld, forever!! no more seaworld. my childhood dream no longer exists. who would've thought it would've lasted this long? surely not my parents. speaking of my parents, and my whole family for that matter, they were pretty happy when i finally put in my notice. let's just say seaworld has not been the best place of employment for me over the years, and my family has seen the devastation that company has pained me with for many years.
so here's to the end of the seaworld chapter in this crazy life of mine.
am i sad? i don't know. day to day i'm not sad, i'm ready to be done. but when i sit in the quiet moments and reflect on this journey, i am sad. i am sad that it didn't work out. i am sad that this company never saw my full potential as an employee. i am sad that so many people created misconceptions about me as a person. i am sad to leave the animals. no matter what was going on in my life, those cute animals could brighten my day in a heartbeat. i feel like i'm giving up on my dreams, but i know this is the right decision. doors were not opening for me there, and i made the mature decision to move on with my life. will i regret it? i've learned life is too short to live in regret. let's be honest, in my short life, if i lived my life haunted by regrets, i would be living a sad, sad life. it's time to move on to the next chapter of my life.
which is...
teaching.
i will be starting as a substitute teacher in a school district near del mar, california. now my mom and i can swap stories about our crazy sub stories. after this semester, i will be moving to orange county, california where i will be student teaching in a high school biology class in the fall.
well, that's the plan for now. only God knows what my future holds, but hopefully it's full of joy and validation that i made the right decision.
