renewal

over the past several months, i've contemplated what to do with my wedding rings. do i sell them? do i just drop them off at a pawn shop? do i put them on ebay or craigslist? do i extract the diamonds and keep them locked away? i kept asking people what their opinion, but it ultimately came back to me and what I wanted to do with them. one of my coworker's wife works as a jeweler and i decided to go and see her to see what she could offer. i honestly had no idea what i wanted to do with them...at one point, i was ready to turn them over to the store for store credit and pick something out, but she told me they were nice diamonds and if i didn't have any bad attachment to them, i could do something nice with them.

hmmmm...bad attachment??? i have NO emotional attachment to these rings. for one, i didn't even pick out the engagement ring...it's nothing close to what i wanted, but he never cared. so i was fine with recreating something I knew i would like and something that would signify this new beginning.

sooo...i decided to take the two smaller diamonds, which were the same size and make a pair of diamond earrings. i'm still unsure of what i'm going to do with the center stone and all the little diamonds that were in my band, but at least this is a start. i couldn't be happier about it!!
