house-sitting

the past 6 months, i have been blessed by people who are willing to take me into their home and help me as i transition into this new period of my life. first, it was adam and tara and joey and kacy, who were there for me during my most fragile state...they helped me as i learned to breathe again...learned to sleep without fear...i saw joy in their lives, which gave me hope. they were there to comfort me and catch my tears...i will never forget their love and kindness.

then came reid and jannee. they barely even knew me, but opened their home and their hearts up to me. they showed me what it means to "love thy neighbor." i felt safe in their home (reid's a cop)...i felt accepted, not judged...i felt loved. jannee was a gift from God, literally. i was able to ask her questions and get advice about "the next steps." i got to ask her questions like "did you sell your wedding rings? what did you do with your dress? have you ever ran into your ex...what did you do? how do you look past all the judgement? what about the name change? what about dating again and trusting guys? etc. she helped me fill out the paperwork, she went with me to the courthouse...she is amazing! i knew my time with reid and jannee would be short because i had agreed to house-sit for kacy's dad, but before i left, they both expressed their home is open if i needed to come back.

so now i'm in another house, and let me say, it is quite the house...probably the most uniquely decorated home i've seen in a while. the good thing is, it's somewhat closer to seaworld, so my commute isn't too bad. i'm taking care of a cat who hisses at me every time i walk by it...we'll see if it ever warms up to me. the first thing i did when i moved in was take trip to trader joes and stock up on yummy food. this is the first time in a YEAR that i feel independent...not having to rely on other people...and this is the first time since january where i feel like i have my own space and a place i can stretch a little...it feels great. i'll be here until the end of july and then hopefully find an apartment and have my two feet on the ground again...AND sleep in my OWN BED AGAIN (that's probably what i miss the absolute most)...AND finally unpack my suitcase i've been living out of for over a year and unpack my storage unit...that'll be a great day!!

i truly feel blessed on how God has provided for me these past few months...He's opened doors and given light to my dark path.
